How Many Roses Are There?

The rose has over 100 species of the flower and easily makes it one of the most diverse in the world. Like with many species, this huge variety is caused by hybrids created over time. Anne’s loves everything about flowers in Nashua, including the variety of roses out there! Overall, there are seven classifications of roses that particular types can fall into according to Buzzle. These classifications are to help you find your favorite!

Hybrid tea roses

The hybrid tea roses are the most common form of roses and capsules all of the ideals of the rose itself. Being one of the most popular flowers to date it is easy to see why as they come in a variety of colors and are generally easy to take care of.

Floribunda roses

This version of the rose is especially suitable for a variety of landscaping purposes because it is a cluster bloom shrub. With a lot of petals, they are full roses that are another form of a hybrid rose.

Grandiflora roses

One of the roses that are large bloomers are members of this class. They can come in a variety of colors and can grow to six feet tall. These flowers are great cut flowers and come in a variety of colors.

Climbers and ramblers

These roses are another classification that is useful for landscaping. They can grow to be 20 feet in height but will need to be attached to the supports unlike other climbing plants. A smaller rose, these flowers are common to add a pop of color to the yard.

Miniature roses

Pruned to be smaller, these roses are similar to the normal-sized cousins in which it shares fragrance and color. They are great porch roses and will still have a variety of colors to choose from despite their size.

Old/antique roses

These particular roses come from a class of roses that existed before the Hybrid Tea Rose. These roses were common before 1867, which is considered the year that the modern rose came to be. These roses come in a variety of types to choose from with this classification.

Wild roses

These roses are the roses that you can find in the wild. They do not need to be cared for and can survive without much as they can protect themselves in the wild. While these roses are wild, they have become a fascination to many who wish to encapsulate their beauty.
